It’s no surprise that fashion evolves over the years. The iconic staples from one decade can be a total faux paux (looking at you 80s clothes!) just a few years later. Even if you aren’t a fashion guru, it can be interesting to see the shift in the way women of a certain time period present themselves.
Glam Inc. created a video called “100 years of Fashion” that features a collection of quintessential outfits from 1915-2015. In the beginning, a conservative and stately drapey dress moves to flappers, hippies, early 2000s and everything in between.
While these outfits don’t represent the population as a whole, it’s interesting to see a small glimpse into an average wardrobe from years ago. Clothes can represent who we are as a culture and what’s important to us at that time. When you look back on the outfits of a certain time, they are almost artifacts and this video is a quick way to see 100 years of fashion.
