BMW does not view the 2007 M6 as a sports car or a luxury coupe. Rather than offer a single classification to place this one-of-kind gem, it generates a new beyond-the-box tag for it. The M6 is an “LSC,” a luxury sports car. Vehicle reviewer Edmunds test drove the M6, with its 5.0-liter V10 engine and seven-speed sequential manual gearbox, and called it “the fastest, quickest production car BMW has ever built,” reporting that it is quicker to 60 mph than a Porsche 911 Carrera S and more agile than a Ferrari 612 Scaglietti.
