Actresses Lori Louglin and Felicity Huffman Caught in College Admissions Scheme

March 15, 2019

Actresses Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman made huge headlines this week – and it wasn’t thanks to a new Hallmark movie or Desperate Housewives spinoff. The two were busted on Tuesday as part of a major college bribery scandal that featured 50 people and $25 million.

Loughlin and Huffman are accused of mail and wire fraud, as evidence shows they each paid large sums of money to get their daughters into prestigious universities. Loughlin and her husband offered $500,000 to the University of Southern California in exchange for spots for their two daughters on the crew team (despite the fact that neither has ever played the sport). Huffman paid $15,000 in a scheme to guarantee good test scores for her daughter.

As is typical whenever celebrities get themselves into legal trouble, the internet was in a frenzy over this news. While some expressed their anger towards the actresses and the institutions that accepted their money, others made more light-hearted Full House jokes, as Loughlin is known for her role as Aunt Becky in the 90’s sitcom.

Loughlin’s daughter has also drawn some ire herself, as videos surfaced of her belittling the importance of a college education.

More will likely be revealed regarding this story, so both actresses will be in the spotlight for quite a while. But after the dust settles, it may be a long time before either sees it again.
