Apple’s Newest Ad Success

When was the last time you were deeply engrossed in a commercial? When was the last time you didn’t fast-forward through your DVR or checked your phone to distract yourself? Well, Apple has created an ad that is likely to keep you watching. It plays like a short-film instead of a commercial called “Welcome Home”. This spot was created by Spike Jonze (who is an Oscar winner director!) to promote Apple’s newest product, HomePod which is their version of Amazon’s Alexa. Musician and dancer FKA Twigs stuns in the visually appealing ad through her interesting choreography to a new song called “Til it’s Gone” by Anderson. Paak and its being hailed as a stunning work. The advertisement is about the HomePod, but the entire commercial goes on without even mentioning the product. “The piece beautifully conveys an emotional journey through movement and offers a wonderful visual metaphor for transforming one’s home—one’s physical abode, yes, but one’s headspace, really—though music.” The ad is truly a pleasure to watch which is a difficult challenge to complete.
