Bad traffic jams are never going to be fun, but Burger King is making them at least a bit better. The fast-food chain recently introduced its “Traffic Jam Whopper”, a burger delivered right to drivers’ car doors while they sit in traffic.
Using a combination of traffic data and advertising through the navigation app Waze, Burger King located heavy traffic areas and offered its delivery service to drivers. The service has a constantly evolving delivery radius based on the movement of traffic.
Mexico City is the only lucky market so far, but the Traffic Jam Whopper will soon be available in Los Angeles, Shanghai, and Sao Paolo. If it’s successful, maybe we’ll see it pop up in more locations around the world.
But for now, most of us will have to settle for a traffic-jam diet of headaches and road rage.
