The Neuberger Museum of Art at Purchase College, SUNY. Initiated in 1974 with Roy R. Neuberger’s donation of 108 works of art, the permanent collection has grown to encompass over 6000 works of un-compromised quality examples of modern and contemporary art by the likes of Milton Avery, Stuart Davis, Willem DeKooning, Helen Frankenthaler, Hans Hofmann, Edward Hopper, Georgia O’Keeffe, Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko and more. In addition to the permanent collection, the Neuberger boasts great exhibitions. Their current, “The Compromised Land: Recent Photography and Video from Israel” is on display now through December. The show revolves around the notion of land and its sacred, geographical, economic, social, and political implications. We love the Neuberger and are sure you will too.
