With speculation over the safety and possibility of holding the 2021 Tokyo Olympics this summer, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) needed to find a way to garner support for the highly anticipated games. In response, they released the #StrongerTogether campaign to remind the world of the inspiration that comes every four years at the Olympic games. The empowering campaign spotlights Usain Bolt and other famous athletes both past and present to promote the theme “the world only moves forward when it’s together.” Following the release of the #StrongerTogether campaign, the IOC changed history as they updated the Olympic motto to “Faster, Higher, Stronger – Together.” As the games are approaching, we can expect to see the #StrongerTogether campaign and the new motto to remind audience members about the unifying power of the Olympics.
