However, the once ‘untouchable’ family faced a cold, harsh reality this month when one of them became a crime victim. Kim Kardashian West, the most successful of the Kardashian clan, was robbed of $10 million dollars worth of jewels in Paris, France. As the details emerged about the heist, the more frightening it became. The French Interior Ministry said the burglars were disguised as French police when entering the elite hotel. The five men threatened the concierge with a gun forcing him to open Kardashian’s private hotel apartment. Upon entry, a gun was held to Kardashian’s head while she was bound to a bathtub with tape over her mouth. After swiping all her jewels and cell phone, they left and Kardashian freed herself. Although physically unharmed, insiders say she is very emotionally distraught. Kardashian has millions of followers on Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat where she incessantly documents her life and whereabouts. Did social media make her a target?
