Kickstarter is known for bringing creative projects to life through online crowd funding. After launching in April of 2009 the company has already successfully funded over 135,000 projects. One of the coolest projects we’ve seen so far is the Nanoleaf Bloom. It’s a light bulb straight out of the future. It was created by self-proclaimed “tree hugging engineers” (Gimmy Chu, Tom Rodinger, and Christian Yan) that aimed to better our environment while setting the mood, one dim light at a time. The light bulb is made with technology that allows you to raise or dim light levels without needing special wiring or light fixtures. The dimming mechanisms are built directly into the bulb and allow for users to set the light to their liking – even from a traditional on/off switch. The dimmer the bulb is, the more energy and money you’re saving … it’s that simple!
