You’ve heard of Elf on the Shelf, but ever heard of Water in a Can? Maybe not, until now. Pepsi recently announced they are going to begin selling Aquafina in cans next year. The declaration comes perfectly timed in the midst of a global sustainability movement.
While everyone is attempting to be more environmentally-friendly, if the cans are successful, sources say Pepsi’s actions would rank among the “highest-profile cases of companies ditching plastic.” Furthermore, Pepsi plans to begin selling bubly water in cans instead of plastic bottles, and LIFEWTR in 100% recycled bottles.
PepsiCo CEO Ramon Laguarta stated that tracking waste has become a top priority for them. With Pepsi being one of the world’s largest food and beverage businesses and a classic American staple, this change could create a significant positive impact on our climate. By this time next year, we could all be cracking open water alongside our red, white, and blue soda cans.
