A little Salmonella never killed nobody. Well, that’s not necessarily true, but a pet food company is arguing that total intolerance of Salmonella contamination is simply “gobbledygook.”
Answers Pet Food, run by Lystn LLC, is suing the FDA due to their zero-tolerance policy for Salmonella in pet foods. The company argues that some levels of Salmonella is fine as it is not always harmful to pets, or humans for that matter.
The pet food firm sells raw organic meat and poultry as pet food and says owners should be able to feed it to their pets if they so choose. It is arguing that the FDA is taking away people’s freedom of food choice, thus violating the U.S. Constitution.
The lawsuit is requesting the FDA, along with other agencies, take back any negative reports about the company and detain from further tribulation against them. Will the FDA comply with the requests? Or will they come back, saying that this “gobbledygook” is pawsitively necessary.
