It’s pretty hard to reinvent something that is so widely used… think cars. However, our friends at Local Motors are definitely on their way to doing so. The LM3D is the first vehicle of its type. Built with less than fifty individual parts, the car is geared toward being a safe, stainable and smart alternative to its 30,000 piece counterparts. Made with less tooling, fewer suppliers and reduced manufacturing waste, it’s definitely an exciting stride for the entire auto industry. Could 3-D printed cars be the future? Only time will tell – but we can’t wait to find out.
