Speak Spot, Speak.

December 9, 2015

Spot won’t exactly “speak,” but Georgia Tech researcher Melody Moore Jackson is working to find a way to allow the Spots of the world to communicate a lot clearer. Currently if a hearing-aid dog hears a doorbell or a baby crying, they are taught to lead their master to the source of the sound, but Jackson wondered what if there’s a tornado warning? She has created a vest with sensors that can convert tugs, nose touches and bites into more precise messages. The vest can even be wirelessly linked to computers and phones allowing service dogs communicate clearer and even call for help. That means it’s only a matter of time before communicating with your canine friend is taken to a new level. Very Cool.
