According to James Locke of the start-up Spritz, 80% of your reading time isn’t spent reading, but physically moving your eyes from word to word and from line to line. The idea behind Spritz is to keep the eye stationary and allow this amazing new technology to move the words for you. Spritz positions each word in the “optical recognition point’ with one strategically highlighted red character that helps the brain to process the word quickly without moving your eyes. Currently the average reader can digest 180 – 220 words a minute reading text in conventional formats. Spritz digitally streams one word after another in a simple text box at the speed of the user’s choice usually between 250 and 600 words a minute. Locke says it takes about five minutes to learn… and you’re off to the races. We’re looking forward to the March 21 debut.
