The art of predatory thinking.

March 5, 2013

We’re glass-half-full people. That’s why we admire Richard Branson. Few people on earth have employed predatory thinking to such great success. It’s how he built Virgin Airlines. Perhaps you’ve heard the story. About 40 years ago, Sir Richard and his fiancée were in Puerto Rico flying to the Virgin Islands, when their flight was canceled. So he found a fifty seat plane that could make the trip for $1,800 and made a sign right then and there that said “Seats Available: Puerto Rico to Virgin Islands – $39.” All the seats sold out almost immediately. Dave Trott tells the tale in full detail on his CST The Gate blog and explains how you too can use Branson-like thinking to reframe and solve just about any problem.
