- Sugar detoxing is the new quitting carbs. The negative health effects of sugar are no surprise, however, once is was revealed that the sugar industry paid off scientists to minimize the relationship between sugar and heart disease, people are choosing to make more conscious decisions to quit sugar cold turkey. More and more people are sharing their sugar detox methods on social media, which is inevitably making this trend stick.
- Everyone is crazy for cryotherapy. The process is to expose the body to extreme low temperatures (-200 and to -250°F) in a controlled environment to increase circulation, reduce inflammation, and boost cellular regeneration. Although the alternative therapy has been around for a while, it only recently has spread like wildfire.
- ‘Ugly’ fruits and vegetables are no longer being picked over. The imperfections of fruit and vegetables are suddenly the ones grocery shoppers look for. There are a lot of efforts to keep food beautiful, efforts that results in wasted food. Now, companies are specializing in selling misshapen fruits and veggies so they do not end up in food waste just because of their look.
