FCB Brazil advertising agency devoted their creativity brainstorms to develop a loyalty travel rewards program that sparked originality. Trip Book Smiles is an e-reader that has a story dependent solely on the readers’ location. To create Trip Book Smiles, the developers talked with various manufacturers about adding geolocation technology. FCB effectively promoted the app with the assistance of a well-known author, Marcelo Rubens Pavia, to draft the first novel available on the travel app. Bruna Milet, Trip Book Smiles’ head of marketing, described the program to be a “365 Days of Smiles meant to get people thinking and talking about the company year-round”. The foundation of the marketing campaign is to keep the agency and app busy and relevant. Trip Book Smiles ‘ brilliance is demonstrated in its crossover between a loyalty rewards program and a retail campaign. Once passengers have gone through the airport checklist; checking in, security, Hudson News, and made it safely to their gate their heads go down to divert all their attention to their phones, tablets, or computers. Trip Book Smiles accurately targets its consumers during their “downtime”. Popular travel (and hopefully informative) apps are a great way to pass travel time and a great marketing outlet for brands!
