We love The Retronaut, the part of Mashable’s website devoted to amazing photographs from the past. Recent posts feature early color photographs of Paris in the roaring twenties, a courageous all-black WWI fighting regiment and images Ferdinand Porsche’s 1945 “People’s Car” that became Volkswagen. October 27th’s incredible images of TWA’s iconic terminal at JFK Airport really got us excited. They vividly captured the history of Eero Saarinen’s architectural marvel and the glamour and wonder of 1960’s air travel just in time before Jetblue, the terminal’s current owner, transforms the space into a swank hotel. To assure architectural preservation, every detail of the building will be meticulously laser scanned before the renovation begins. Check it out at Mashable.com.
