A study published on September 22nd, by a team of scientists at UC Berkeley, is breaking new ground in exploring how the human mind works. Their experiments have allowed them to retrieve visuals that illustrate their subjects brain activity. Below is a video that showcases their method. On the left the subject views visuals from movie trailers. On the right is a reconstruction of that visual based on the brains activity – recorded and compared to a visual dictionary of over 18,000,000 seconds of random video clips.
