At only 19-years-old, French World Cup star, Kylian Mbappe, has brought his country to victory at the 2018 World Cup over Croatia with a final game score of 4-2. He has become the first teenager to score in a final game since soccer legend Pele in 1958, which is an immense accomplishment. Mbappe is living the life that most young soccer players dream of, and he is taking this win as an opportunity to give back. In fact, he has donated all of his earnings from the World Cup to a French charity called Premiers de Cordee. This charity works to provide free sports instruction to children that are hospitalized or struggling with a disability. The organization also orchestrates a series of youth disability awareness programs across Europe. Mbappe has previously been involved with Premiers De Cordee and the general manager of the charity stated that he is, “Kylian, he’s a great person. When his schedule allows it, he intervenes for us with pleasure. He has a very good [relationship] with children, he always finds the right [words] to encourage them. I sometimes even feel that [he] takes more pleasure to play with the kids than the kids themselves.” Factoring in the bonuses that Mbappe received for being on the tournament winning team, the contribution that he is making to this humanitarian organization amount to over half a million US dollars. Kylian Mbappe has his whole career ahead of him and it looks as though he is on the path to becoming a player that will be placed among the greatest of the sport.
